Monsooned Malabar AA coffee comes from India, in the Chickmagalur region, Mangaluru. Seasoned with old legends about sea transport during monsoons, nowadays, it is cultivated with the utmost care to obtain high quality. Various varieties of Monsooned Malabar AA coffee are grown at altitudes from 1000 m to 1600 m. The harvested coffee berries dry naturally, unwashed, aging for several weeks in the sun. Grains with a screen of 17 up are selected. This warrants a very special cup of Monsooned Malabar AA: Notes of cedarwood and tobacco, with more or less no acidity. It is an exceptionally delicate, soft cup coffee, which is a very popular ingredient in many blends.
Harvest time for Monsooned Malabar AA coffee is in May and June. Due to the natural, long-term drying process, shipment is possible only from September. Coffee manufacturer Aspinwall offers a 50 kg bag for sale.
